This is a large site in beautiful woodland & perfect for families! There are 3 beautiful pools; a lovely warm toddler pool with little slides, a large outdoor pool & a warm indoor pool also with a slide. There is a water park with 4 slides & lots of water spraying, which was brilliant for kids (& adults)... of all ages to enjoy. The lifeguards around the pool are quite strict with the rules (including no food) & one was a little rude when telling us about it however the pool areas were lovely and clean so worth sticking to! Tight trunks (budgie smugglers) are a must, no shorts!
The bakery in the shop did fantastic pastries for breakfast & we had multiple baguettes a day too! The shop was well stocked. There is also a huge carrefour supermarket only 15 mins away.
We booked with Eurocamp & our cabin was great. Quite modern inside compared to some we’ve stayed in previously. Nice comfy beds, very clean and a lovely deck area to sit/eat out on. Only negative with the lodges, they are quite closely packed together. This was fine but we had 2 young children and felt a little guilty on our neighbours when they were up & outside at 8/8:30.
We only ate at the site restaurant once but the food was lovely & plenty to choose from on the menu.
The only tiny (really tiny) problem we incurred was regarding BBQs. Electric BBQs were available to hire from the site (no gas allowed) but Holiday Green would not hire to us as we were Eurocamp customers. We only had a combi-microwave grill in our cabin so we’re a little limited with the meals we could cook. I probably wouldn’t bother booking via Eurocamp next time & just go direct through the site.
Frejus beach was beautiful & lots going on, 25 mins away. Esclamandes beach was a bit quieter & maybe even more stunning.
A great site, super location… enjoy!
A bit painful to have to write a review like this, we always go to a place with the intent to enjoy it, not stress the little things, and I can’t remember the last time I scored a place below 3 but HGJ just doesn’t justify it.
Let’s start the with the extra charges : after booking a ‘luxury’... cabin we were told we need to pay extra for bed linen & towels.
Then there’s the multiple emails harassing us to pay a Eur200 deposit starting a fortnight before arrival.
Extra charges for cleaning, and they mean it too! We spent around 2 hours cleaning the cabin prior to departure and then there’s an inspection with a commandant forcing you to go back in to scrub and polish extra areas, standing over you with a clipboard.
No cleaning equipment is supplied, no mop, no spray, no cloths, no Hoover. It’s farcical.
The food is abysmal, I didn’t even know anywhere served food this bad in France. It’s far below the standard from the motorway service stations. There were , admittedly, clues before it arrived: why were the customers at the restaurant all English despite the majority of guests on site being French? This means you have to drive off site every evening to eat or make your own food in the poorly equipped kitchen, no oven or grill, just a stove. Even the coffee at the cafe hatch is poor.
There’s no amenities such as toiletries, kitchen wash items, water or coffee machine. Just nothing.
Overall this is the worst value for money holiday I’ve been on, spanning a range from high end hotels & resorts to bare minimum campsites & everything in between. In an attempt to be charitable, looking for redeeming features, I guess I could say the fresh baked goods at the shop were ok & the pool wasn’t too chlorinated. Struggling to think of anything else to praise.
Final comment on the water park. It’s rarely open, but that doesn’t matter as it’s so bad the kids didn’t want to use it.
Save your time & money and go to eurocamp instead.
A great 7 night family stay at Holiday Green. The park is beautiful and very clean, set amongst lots of trees so despite being busy was tranquil and peaceful. We booked our lodge direct rather than through Eurocamp and are glad we did as we were situated very near the pool.
The pool and water slides... area are fantastic. Even though the park was very busy there were always sun loungers and parasols available. I’ve read on here about the pool closing at lunchtime but we didn’t experience this which was good as we were often there at lunch.
The little shop had a nice bakery but not the biggest selection of food. If you want to cook then it’s worth a 10 min drive to the supermarket to choose from a larger selection of food.
Restaurant was nice but very busy so you need to book. The lounge bar near the pool is great for lunch and drinks. All food and drinks are quite expensive, similar to if you go to a uk Center parcs.
All of the staff were lovely and the welcome pack on arrival was a nice touch.
The park is very hilly - we loved this as it gives it much more character. It’s well catered for in terms of ramps for wheelchairs and prams however I imagine it would still be difficult to get up and down if you were not in a lodge near the pool.
It’s about a 20 min drive to Frejus and Saint Raphael which are both beautiful. If you like the beach I’d highly suggest avoiding the big beaches at Fréjus and SR and driving round to some of the pretty coves. Much nicer and perfect for snorkelling and swimming. You even get a visit from an ice cream boat during the day.
We are just back from a lovely family holiday in Holiday Green. The campsite is beautiful, our mobile home was one of the Pop Art range and it was the nicest mobile home I have ever stayed in. We also got a very generous welcome pack from the resort which I thought was a nice touch. It feels like the... park is situated in a Forest as there are lots of beautiful trees and greenery around. We were there with our three children aged 9, 6 and 3 and they absolutely loved the outdoor, indoor and baby pools and the water park! There are loads of sun loungers and we never had a problem getting some near the pool. We went the last week in June and first week in July and the opening times of the shop and smaller bar area were a bit odd but I think they become more regular as the season progresses. I would highly recommend this campsite for a young family who want a nice base and the opportunity to explore some of the lovely southern French towns around the campsite. We will definitely be back :)
Find out moreLovely campsite. 😍 Quite hilly but a great location for visiting Cannes & St Tropez. We stayed in our touring caravan at the end of season (18-23rd sept) & everything was still open. Beautiful swimming pool, good sized shop & small boutique shop were I bought a lovely new bikini. 👙 😁 Excellent... sanitary facilities (open in the middle & Roman style) & an amazing restaurant on site. The food & service were exceptional. 😋 Helena in reception was very friendly & welcoming & Djago showed us to our pitch & was most helpful. We were given 3 nice bottles of wine as a welcome gift & thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Also they were very dog friendly & it was nice & peaceful as end of season. Perfect for us. Would definitely recommend & return again if in the area. 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
