After the first impression things got better and better

Family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 10 and 9.
Before giving our review we would like to advise you all that having read all the other reviews before making our choice and with our experience in the camp it is clear that there has been a transformation since 2016-2017 and to our mind those elder reviews... are no longer valid.
Arrival - We live without a car so getting to the location and settling in (trips are always tiring) is important for us. Getting to the place was relatively easy. From Milano many variations of trains go to Ravenna and from there it is a short 20-30m trip by bus (Line 80 from just outside the station). At the front reception the welcome was good. The problem was that we were told that the home was not yet ready. We were surprised a little at this because we had done everything in advance before showing up - check-in and paying off the balance on the credit due. We were told that we would have to wait a little before it was ready. So we gave our mobile number to the person on reception to call us when it was ready and proceeded to the bar (bags and all to await the call). After 2 hours it never came and we trudged back to reception (with 2 kids in tow) only to hear that one forgot to call us. Anyway we were shown to and around the home, politely but hardly friendly. Once alone and collapsed on the sofa we began to observe our surroundings. By all appearances it seem that the place hadn't been cleaned because there were still some things of the previous occupants, no toilet roll and a horrible smell of fish (presumably) some cleaning agent like ammonia. We were so tired that we didn't return all the way to reception. Instead we aerated the place and got on with the holiday.
Accommodation - The home (after the first impression) was fine and importantly for those of you considering a stay, the video on the site is quite accurate so no worries about getting a false impression. Beds are comfortable and our choice of stay (with two bathrooms) proved ideal for a stay at the beach. One note of warning - if you have problems sleeping, the hub of activity is in the centre of the park so try to choose a home a little distant.
Dining - We choose a half board stay (breakfast and dinner). Standard fare, choice of 2 first courses and 2 second courses with desert (not great). For the third meal we ate at home with ingredients purchased at the on-site store. The choices if you go only for B&B on the menu are greater and there are many places to eat in Ravenna or Punto Marina (better if you want a seaside meal). We didn't find the eateries on the beach very inspiring. Returning to the restaurant, service was mixed, some excellent waiters some much less so.
Beach - nice sandy beach and well maintained. Some kiosks for drinks ecc. As for the water itself, great if you have kids because you have to go a long way before the water gets really deep. Unfortunately the water isn't very clear. Clean but not clear. And very salty.
On-site activities - we didn't participate very much, concentrating on the pool and beach. But from fellow campers we were told that the group entertain children / young adults was quite good. Our only interaction was during the evening show at 22:00. Entertaining.
Off site activities - if you have a car there are many things to see and do in the area. We took advantage of the free shuttle bus to Mirabilandia for the day.
Pool - Nice, with slides for the kids and hydro-massage for more grownups. It's a little small though.
One important point to add. The sister village Adriano Camping Village is just across the road. Residents in Marina Camping Village have free access to all the facilities of the other village, which for variation and quality is big plus.
